The contractual intermediary, a qualifier more than a real qualification, designates those whose activity, from a contractual source, consists in bringing together two or more people with a view to concluding a contract. Unknown as much as unloved, these intermediaries who officiate in fields as varied as insurance, banking, transport or advertising in particular, are rarely grouped under a single term. Doctrine and case law deal separately with agents, commission agents, brokers, commercial agents, etc. This segregation does not make it possible to understand the object of the activity of intermediary, nor to highlight the common points that exist. among all these professionals.
